::Amon Tobin::

After a week without any suggestions, I'm back. Today's hint is Supermodified, an album by Amon Tobin. For more details on who Amon is visit the Ninja Tune's Amon Tobin page.

Why did I choose Supermodified? Amon Tobin currently has six albums (actually seven, if we count with Adventures In Foam; but that album goes back to the time when Amon Tobin was Cujo, so it doesn't count as an Amon Tobin album...). From those six albums I think two of them are particularly good: Permutation (his second album), and Supermodified. I chose this one because it's my favourite. But, of course I advise you to listen to his other works as well. And of course, if you get the opportunity, check the Four Ton Mantis music video, here.

Artist: Amon Tobin
Album Name: Supermodified
Released: 2000
Genre: Electronic, Leftfield, Drum n' Bass, Experimental

::Diamonds Are Forever::

Today's recommendation is Miss Shirley Bassey's The Remix Album... Diamonds Are Forever. It's an amazing album, with remixed themes from Shirley Bassey. Featuring remixes by Propellerheads, Kenny Dope, Kurtis Mantronik, amongst other great DJ's. The album as 10 musics, which you'll probably recognize, because there are a few James Bond themes, such as Goldfinger and Diamonds Are Forever.

It's an electronic based album, of course, but I advise everyone to listen to it, even those who don't enjoy electronic music.

"And remember, through the whole album and throughout the ever-progessing musical world, there remains one undeniable, unmistakable, lip-quiveringly unique constant the voice that is Shirley Bassey".

5. Chromeo - Destination Overdrive (The DFA Remix)

::And, as a bonus, another hint:

Hint #1

Have you noticed the blog description? Check it out. Those are the lyrics of a Robert Miles song, named Introducing. It's the first music of 23am, his second CD.

This is the album that I advise you to listen. Usually the name Robert Miles is associated to bad techno music. Children is his best known music, and also one of the creepiest things I ever listened to. But, one day I found 23am. And I was amazed. It had nothing to do with the early musics from Dreamland, his first CD. 23am it's an amazing electronic/ambient/breaks album (sorry about the over-tagging, but I just can't help it...). It's very easy-listening, and really sets up your mood.

The album starts with a calm ambience, and it starts growing into a whirl of breaks, which really simbolizes one's life. Freedom, the 4th music (feat. Kathy Sledge), is simply great.

Altough it's an old album (1997), I still listen to it sometimes, because is really good. It will be hard to become an out-dated album.

Pure Energy...

The First Shout

Welcome. What's the purpose of this blog? Sharing. Sharing my musical taste with everybody. Sharing my critics with everybody. I listen to music everyday. In my car, in my house, everywhere. From now on you'll know what I'm listening to, and my opinion about it. I'll publish reviews on single musics and full albums. Mainly, this musical blog will be focused on electronic music. That's my passion. Enjoy.
